If I had to choose one word to sum up this couple and this wedding, I would choose the word "sweet". Mikayla and Benton are like a couple out of a sit-com from the 1950's --- so classic and so in love. To make the analogy even cooler, I found out on their wedding day that Benton is actually color-blind. Though Google just informed me that colorblindness is different than I had assumed, I like to think that, through his eyes, they are ACTUALLY living a sweet, black-and-white-movie of a love story and will be forever and ever, amen. Would it blow your mind if I told you that they were also born only 7 hours apart in the same exact year? You can't make this stuff up, people.
Mikayla and Benton were married by her uncle in the church where she grew up, and their reception was held in the backyard of the b+b her grandparents own. She had something old, new, borrowed, and blue. Mikayla made the cake-balls for her own reception and her sweet mother made her delicious three-tiered wedding cake. So many personal touches came together to make their day so special and so THEM! I was honored to be along for the ride and I'm happy to share a few of my favorite images from their wedding day.
Congratulations, you two! I hope your first week of marriage has been amazing and that your honeymoon in Maine has been everything you could have hoped for!
