This week's wedding is so special for so many reasons. It was the biggest wedding I've ever been a part of - there were 700 guests in attendance! It was also my first time to have the privilege to work with Indian families.
Lesley and Josh come from a culture different from my own, but they worship the same God that I do. Their ceremony was filled with prayer, the reading of Scripture, and heavenly worship. They were surrounded by the love of their family and friends, and multiple pastors spoke on their behalf. It was obvious to me that this couple and their family took their wedding ceremony incredibly seriously and they recognized that something much bigger than a social event was taking place.
It's easy for weddings to become displays of romantic sentiment, but to those who follow Christ a wedding is a step of obedience and an act of worship. Long after the pretty dresses have been worn, the tuxes have been returned, and the thank you notes have been sent, a holy covenant between two people remains. In the sweet and difficult times, vows are tested, and true love is revealed.
Proverbs 31:30 says "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
In the short time that I've known Lesley and Josh, I can say in full confidence that they are both blessed and lucky. Blessed, because they have both found a partner that fears the Lord and longs to do His will, and lucky, because they are each so beautiful, too!
I am honored to document such special, beautiful days in the lives of so many. Though these moments may be fleeting, I hope the memories will last forever.
Congratulations, Lesley and Josh!
I am so thankful you found each other, and I was honored to witness and document the day you exchanged your vows. Here's to the many more years of love to come!
