emma // sun-soaked bridal session at the white sparrow // quinlan, tx
March 3, 2017
If heaven were a barn, it would look like The White Sparrow on a sunny afternoon.
Seriously...it's gorgeous. The White Sparrow is set off a county road in Quinlan, TX, far away from any of the typical traffic and noise of the DFW metroplex, and I LOVE IT!
Brides who book their wedding at this beautiful venue are allowed to use the space for bridal portraits, so you can imagine how stoked I was when my friend Emma told me she wanted to book a bridal session with her wedding package!
The barn is such a perfect backdrop for brides of every style. Emma's strapless, trumpet-style dress, long veil, and bright bouquet were STUNNING in the space last week, and I couldn't have asked for more.
Brides-to-be: Have you ever wondered how you should prepare for your bridal session? I've shared a few tips at the end of this post to ensure your bridal experience is all you've ever dreamed of and more! Don't miss 'em!
Emma, you were a stunning bride. Your dress, shoes, and makeup only emphasized your beautiful soul. Thanks for taking me on this journey with you and for trusting me to document such a wonderful season in your life!
Tips to ensure your bridals are everything you've ever dreamed of and more
Relax! Take advantage of the day of your bridal session and pamper yourself. Get a massage, take a trip to the nail salon, and listen to your favorite music during your hair and makeup appointment! You've been waiting for this season - and these pictures! - your entire life. Soak it up! Marriage is seriously wonderful, but there is nothing like life as a bride-to-be! If you want bridal portraits you'll love for a lifetime, invest in yourself. Rest. Relax. And play dress up like there's no tomorrow!
Bring a friend! Bring someone who knows you well, is genuinely excited about your wedding, and is up for carrying your train and fluffing your dress for a couple of hours! Whoever you bring needs to be encouraging and helpful. If your mom fits the bill, bring her along! If you'd rather bring a friend, do that! Every photographer wants her bride to be comfortable and confident, so keep that in mind when picking out your bridal shoot bestie! :)
Trust your photographer! You have very few responsibilities on the day of your bridals. First, show up with your hair and makeup done. Second, slip into your dress and take it all in --- after all, this is the first time you've seen yourself as a bride! Third, get excited, dance around, and let all your worries go. Your photographer will take it from there.
