Joy reached out to me in July about her October wedding. Just days earlier, I turned down an inquiry for her exact wedding date because I didn't feel like I was the right photographer for the job. (Sometimes you just have to walk away, let someone else jump on that opportunity, and trust that something better might be just around the corner!)
Every word in Joy's inquiry was so intentional, so meaningful, so heartfelt. I immediately felt connected to the story she told and the vision she and Reed had for their Christ-centered wedding. I hoped SO badly that they would feel that same connection with me. I knew right away they were the reason I had kept that October date in my calendar wide open.
Since their initial consultation, we've shot their engagement photos, scheduled Joy's bridal shoot, and discussed their wedding day plans in detail. We've also decided that Joy and I are long lost cousins. :)
I feel so blessed to have met them, for them to have chosen me, and to have the opportunity to document such an amazing season in their lives.
With that, I give you a few of my favorite images from the first of our photo adventures together - their early morning engagement session at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve.
